Sitting at an elevation of 6,035 ft, Colorado Springs is located at the eastern foot of the Rocky Mountains. It lies near one of America’s most famous mountains, Pikes Peak, which boats hiking trails and a cog railway leading to its 14,115-ft. summit. The city’s Garden of the Gods park features iconic red-sandstone formations and mountain views. Colorado Springs is also home to the historic five-diamond rated Broadmoor Hotel and houses the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo which, at an elevation of 6,714 ft above sea level, is the highest zoo in the United States.
